A Study on Gain Enhanced Leaf-Shaped Bow-Tie Slot Array Antenna within Quasi-Millimeter Wave Band

In this paper, a linear array of 4 leaf-shaped bowtie slot antennas is proposed for use in quasi-millimeter wave band. The designed to operate at 28 GHz frequency antenna type self-complementary with low profile and cost fabrication. structure offers improvement radiation pattern, gain, -10 dB impedance bandwidth. Through out paper actual bandwidth are evaluated by Finite Different Time Domain (FDTD) simulation. Antenna characteristics analyzed the range 27 29 GHz. To improve such as gain bandwidth, dielectric superstrate layer relative permittivity 10.2 placed on top ground plane array. Three structures introduced compared. With two layers plane, analysis results show that occupies 27.17 28.39 Therefore, operational 1.22 Maximum 20.49dBi —3 27.02 28.57 validate results, prototype fabricated. Characteristics measured compared results.
